Best GEO agencies in India in 2026: two different businesses, one search

The short answer
The fork is who the buyer is, and it changes everything about what you should be buying.
- Agencies serving Indian brands for Indian buyers. Techmagnate names Bajaj Finserv, Hyundai, IIFL Finance and L&T Finance. The work is domestic: Indian search behaviour, Indian competitors, Indian buying journeys.
- Agencies delivering from India to global brands. TripleDart runs from Bangalore and Plano, Texas. It names SentinelOne, Freshworks, Zoho and Razorpay, and calls itself an “AI-Native B2B SaaS Marketing Agency.” The India part is where the team sits, not who the buyer is.
Both are legitimate, and the wording problem underneath them is one we traced in AEO, GEO, AIO and LLMO explained. They are not swaps, and a list that ranks them together is comparing an Indian domestic agency against an offshore delivery model as though the question were the same.
Why the domestic job is different
The usage data says so. OpenAI published its own data on Indian ChatGPT usage in February 2026. India is “one of the largest markets of ChatGPT weekly active users” and “a top five country for API users.” The usage profile is not the global one. Messages from users aged 18 to 24 are just under half the Indian total, against about a third globally. And around 35 percent of Indian messages are work-related, against roughly 30 percent worldwide.
That is a younger, more task-oriented user base than the global average, which changes the prompt set a GEO programme should be tracking. Below we set out what to check, and what the lists do not tell you.
Pepper is an Indian company and we sell in this market, so read this as an interested view. We are an agentic organic growth engine, not an SEO agency. This page comes out of what we run: organic for more than 250 enterprises across eight years, more than 10 million tracked prompts, and the questions buyers put to us in client reviews. Customers log in and run the platform themselves, with a Pepper growth team attached. Book a growth audit and we will show you what five engines say about your brand in your market.
Key takeaways
Key takeaways from OpenAI’s own India report and an afternoon on the agencies’ own websites.
- Two businesses, one search term. Domestic Indian GEO and offshore delivery to global brands are different purchases with different evidence requirements.
- India’s ChatGPT users skew young. Messages from 18 to 24 year olds are just under half the total against about a third globally, per OpenAI’s own figures.
- Work use runs above the global average. Around 35 percent of Indian messages are work-related, against roughly 30 percent globally.
- Indian work conversations lean toward doing, not asking. Around 45 percent of work conversations involve drafting, transforming or completing a task.
- Terminology is uneven here too. Techmagnate uses “AI SEO” and “Agentic AI SEO” without the word GEO. ThatWare uses six different terms on one site.
- Published pricing is rare. TripleDart states standalone SEO and AEO “from $5K/month” in an FAQ. Most publish nothing.
What is a GEO agency in India, and which of the two do you need?
A GEO agency helps your brand get named and cited inside AI answers rather than only ranked in a list of links. In India that description covers two business models you should not confuse.
The domestic model. Here the client is an Indian brand selling to Indian buyers. Prompts come in Indian English or an Indian language, competitors are Indian, and engines reach for Indian publications and review sites. Techmagnate is the clearest example in our checks, with a client list running to Bajaj Finserv, Hyundai and IIFL Finance.
The offshore delivery model. Here the client is usually a US or European SaaS company. India is where the team sits, not where the buyers are. TripleDart runs offices in Bangalore and Plano and names SentinelOne, Freshworks and Zuora. The work is global GEO executed from India, which is a cost and talent decision rather than a market one.
How to tell which you need in one question. Where do your buyers type their prompts from? If the answer is India, you need the first. If the answer is North America or Europe, the agency’s location is a business detail. Judge it on the same criteria as any global firm, which we set out in our GEO agency ranking methodology.

What OpenAI’s own data says about Indian AI users
This is the part the agency lists do not use, and it is published by the engine itself.
OpenAI released “How India uses ChatGPT” in February 2026, drawing on its own usage data. Three findings change how you should build a prompt set for Indian buyers.

The three findings
- The user base is younger. Messages from 18 to 24 year olds are “just under half of all messages on ChatGPT in the country.” OpenAI notes this “significantly exceeds the global share” of “about one-third.” Users aged 18 to 34 account for roughly 80 percent of consumer messages.
- Work use is higher. “While around 30% of global messages are about work, around 35% of messages in India are.”
- Work use is task-shaped. Work conversations contain “a higher share of ‘doing’ behavior such as drafting, transforming, or completing tasks, around 45% of all conversations.”
- Non-work use is advice-shaped. “A little over thirty-five percent of messages relate to practical guidance and roughly twenty percent relate to seeking information.”

Where this falls short, and it matters. This is consumer ChatGPT usage, not B2B buying behaviour, and OpenAI is describing its own product rather than the AI search market. A younger consumer base does not automatically mean your enterprise buyers are 22. Use it to understand the market you are operating in, not as a substitute for your own prompt research.
What we would take from it. If you sell to Indian buyers, the volume of AI usage in your market is not the question. Whether your category’s prompts are being answered from Indian sources is. That is a check you can run yourself, and the practices behind it are in our GEO best practices playbook.
GEO agencies in India at a glance
Disclosure: Pepper appears here. We are an Indian company and we compete in this market. We have not ranked ourselves against these firms, and we lead the table because we are the publisher, in a separate category, with the same columns filled in.
| Firm | Which model | Says “GEO” on own site | Published pricing | Named clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pepper | Both, platform plus team | Yes | Not published | Case studies published |
| Techmagnate | Domestic Indian | No. Uses “AI SEO”, “Agentic AI SEO” | Not published | Bajaj Finserv, Hyundai, IIFL Finance, L&T Finance |
| TripleDart | Offshore to global SaaS | Yes, “GEO/AEO” | Yes, from $5K/month | SentinelOne, Freshworks, Zoho, Razorpay |
| ThatWare | Both, technically led | Yes, plus five other terms | Not published | None named |
Checked at each company’s own website on 24 September 2026. “Not published” means we looked and found nothing. We checked three firms in depth rather than listing twenty we had not opened, and we have marked what we did not verify rather than filling it from a directory.
Pepper
- What it is: an agentic organic growth engine, not an agency. We state the distinction because it changes what you are buying.
- Which model: both. We run domestic Indian programmes and global ones, and we will tell you which team would be on your account before you sign.
- How it runs: you hold the logins. You set up the workspace, connect GA4 and Search Console, manage themes and prompts, and read the analytics yourself. A Pepper growth team is attached, running the agents in Agent Atlas.
- Engines tracked: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews.
- Metrics: Brand Visibility, Domain Prompt Presence and Share of Voice. The gap between the first two is the citability problem, and the framework is Visibility, Citability and Retrievability.
- Credentials: eight years, 250-plus enterprises, more than 10 million tracked prompts, with work published in our case studies.
- Where it falls short: we do not publish a rate card, so you cannot size us without a call. We also do not run Indian-language content production at the depth a specialist regional agency does. If your programme is primarily Hindi or Tamil content at volume, say so early and we will tell you plainly whether we fit.
Techmagnate
- Own positioning: “Own Every Search Result – From Google Rankings to AI Answers.”
- Which model: domestic Indian, and the strongest named client list here for Indian brands.
- Named clients: Bajaj Finserv, Hyundai, Pigeon, IIFL Finance, L&T Finance, with case studies including Bajaj Finserv Gold Loans, Truemeds and Bajaj Broking.
- Location: corporate office in Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate, New Delhi.
- Terminology: “AI SEO”, “LLM Optimization” and “Agentic AI SEO”. We found no use of “GEO” or “generative engine optimization” on the site.
- Published pricing: none. The site states pricing “depends on services, scope, and industry.”
- Where it falls short: it appears on GEO agency lists while not using the term itself, so the label is applied by the list rather than claimed. That is a category-naming issue rather than a skill one, but it does mean you should ask what the AI search deliverable actually contains.
TripleDart
- Own positioning: “AI-Native B2B SaaS Marketing Agency”, framed as a “GTM Operating System”.
- Which model: offshore delivery to global brands. Offices in Bangalore and Plano, Texas.
- Named clients: SentinelOne, Freshworks, Zuora, Sprinklr, Sage, Zoho, Razorpay, Payoneer and Glean among others.
- Terminology: names “GEO/AEO” explicitly, and offers a “GEO Platform for Enterprises”.
- Published pricing: the only figure we found, standalone SEO and AEO “from $5K/month”, stated in an FAQ rather than on a pricing page.
- Where it falls short: it also publishes its own ranked list of the best GEO agencies, which is a pattern we documented in detail for another vertical in banking and financial SEO agencies. The client list is genuinely strong and skews heavily to US SaaS, so if your buyers are Indian this may be the wrong fit.
ThatWare
- Own positioning: “LLM SEO, AEO & GEO for AI Search Dominance”, with the line “Most SEO agencies still optimize for search engines. We optimize for AI reasoning layers.”
- Location: three offices in Howrah, West Bengal, plus Dubai.
- Terminology: the widest vocabulary we have seen anywhere. “Hyper-Intelligence SEO”, “LLM SEO”, “AEO”, “GEO”, “AIEO” and “crSEO” all appear on one site.
- Published pricing: service-level pricing pages exist, but no rates appear on the homepage.
- Where it falls short: no clients are named, only unnamed logos, which is the thinnest evidence base of the three. Six in-house terms for adjacent work also makes any proposal hard to compare against another firm’s.
What this costs in India
Published figures are scarce, and the ones that exist come with a currency question attached.
- The one published figure in this set. TripleDart states standalone SEO and AEO from $5,000 per month, which is a US-facing price point for a firm delivering from Bangalore.
- Domestic Indian pricing is not published by anyone we checked. Techmagnate and ThatWare both quote on scope.
- Expect a genuine gap between domestic and export pricing. An agency selling to Indian brands and one selling the same hours to US SaaS companies are operating in different price market, and the same firm may do both.
- The tool layer is priced in dollars regardless. AI visibility subscriptions start around $29 a month and are billed globally, so that part of your budget does not benefit from local rates.
Ask for the number in the currency you will be invoiced in, and ask whether the quoted team is the one that will work on your account. The wider picture across agencies and platforms sits in SEO, AEO and GEO pricing benchmarks.
How to choose a GEO agency in India
Here is the sequence we would run if we were buying rather than selling.
Step one: decide which of the two businesses you need
Write down where your buyers are. If they are in India, you are buying market knowledge and you should weight named Indian clients heavily. If they are in North America or Europe, you are buying delivery capacity and the agency’s India location is a cost structure, not a skill.
Most confusion in this category comes from skipping this question and then comparing two firms that were never competing for the same job.
Step two: score the shortlist on a 100-point scale
Rebuild this from each firm’s own website rather than from a ranked list.
| Criterion | Weight | What earns full marks |
|---|---|---|
| Named clients in your buyer’s market | 30 | A client you can call, selling where you sell |
| Engine coverage, named | 20 | Named engines, a prompt set, a stated frequency |
| Data and login ownership | 15 | You keep GA4, Search Console and platform access |
| Language skill, if you need it | 15 | Native writers, not translation plus a review pass |
| Cost transparency | 10 | A number on the first call, in your invoice currency |
| Terminology you can compare | 10 | Standard terms, or in-house ones they will translate |
Total 100. Named clients in your buyer’s market carries the most because it is the criterion that separates the two business models, and it is the hardest to fake.

Step three: ask the five questions that separate them
- “Which of your named clients sells to the same buyers I do?” Not the biggest logo. The most similar buyer.
- “Which engines do you measure, how often, and can I see last month’s raw answers?” Named engines, a frequency and real output.
- “You call this AI SEO. What is in the deliverable?” Terminology varies widely here, so make them describe the work rather than name it.
- “Who owns the logins and the data?” If they run everything and send a deck, you keep nothing when the contract ends.
- “What would you tell us not to do?” A partner with a view answers immediately.
Step four: run a live test before the full retainer
Give each finalist the same 25 prompts your buyers would type, in the language they would type them, and 90 days. If you sell in India, include prompts in Indian English and at least a few in the regional language you care about most. For regulated categories, our BFSI practice covers the extra review layer this adds.
A weaker agency reports rankings and traffic. A stronger one reports which prompts you now appear in, which pages the engines cited, and whether the sources cited were Indian or international. That last distinction is the most useful thing a domestic programme can tell you, and almost nobody reports it unprompted.
Step five: watch for these red flags
- A ranked list position used as a credential, especially when the list is published by an agency on it.
- Six in-house terms for adjacent work, which makes proposals impossible to compare.
- No named clients at all, only unnamed logos.
- A US price quoted to an Indian brand without an explanation of what the difference buys.
- A guaranteed citation in an AI answer. Nobody controls what a model outputs.
- No question about which language your buyers use.
Step six: decide what stays inside, and whether you need this yet
Language judgement stays inside. Nobody outside your company can tell you whether a Hindi page reads like marketing translated from English, and that judgement decides whether the work lands.
And here is the answer that loses us the sale. If you sell only in India, your category is small, and nobody has checked whether AI engines answer your category from Indian sources at all, do that check first. Twenty prompts and an afternoon will tell you whether there is a visibility problem worth funding. If the engines are already citing you, or if nobody in your category is being cited by anyone, a retainer is premature.
It comes down to one principle: buy the market knowledge you do not have. If your buyers are Indian, that is local search behaviour and local sources. If they are not, India on the letterhead is a delivery detail, and you should ignore it and judge the work.
What nobody should promise you
- A guaranteed citation in an AI answer, in any language or market. We will not promise it either.
- That an India-based team means India-specific expertise. The two things are unrelated, and the offshore model is explicitly the second without the first.
- A ranked list position as proof of quality, especially where the publisher appears on its own list.
- Indian-language skill without native writers. Ask who writes, where they live, and whether they have bought the product.
- That OpenAI’s usage data describes your buyers. It describes consumer ChatGPT use in India, which is a different population from your enterprise buying committee.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best GEO agency in India?
There is no single answer, because two different businesses answer to that search. Decide first whether you need an agency that knows Indian buyers or one that delivers global work from India, then judge on named clients in your buyer’s market.
How big is AI search in India?
OpenAI states India is “one of the largest markets of ChatGPT weekly active users” and “a top five country for API users,” in its February 2026 report on Indian usage. It does not publish a country ranking by user count.
Choosing between the two models
Does an Indian agency understand Indian buyers better?
Only if its clients are Indian brands selling to Indian buyers. Several India-based agencies serve mostly US SaaS companies, which makes them a delivery model rather than a domestic market specialist.
Should I pay Indian or US rates?
It depends which business you are buying. Ask for the number in the currency you will be invoiced in, and ask whether the team quoted is the one that will do the work. The one published figure we found was $5,000 per month, from a firm serving US clients.
Do Indian agencies use the term GEO?
Inconsistently. One firm we checked uses “AI SEO” and “Agentic AI SEO” without ever saying GEO, while another uses six different terms on one site. Make them describe the deliverable rather than name it.
Running the programme
Should I track prompts in Hindi or regional languages?
If your buyers use them, yes. Include them in your test set from the start, because an agency that has only tracked English prompts will not surface a regional gap until you ask for it.
What does OpenAI’s India data mean for my prompt set?
It describes a younger, more work-oriented and more task-shaped consumer user base than the global average. Treat it as context for the market rather than as a description of your own buyers, and build your prompt set from your own customer language.
How do I test an Indian GEO agency?
Give each finalist 25 prompts in the language your buyers use, and 90 days. Ask specifically whether the sources cited in the answers were Indian or international, because that is the finding a domestic programme turns on.
Sources
Agency details were checked at each company’s own website on 24 September 2026. The usage data is from OpenAI’s own published report.
OpenAI’s India report
- OpenAI, How India uses ChatGPT: early evidence from OpenAI Signals, Global Affairs, February 2026. States India “is one of the largest markets of ChatGPT weekly active users” and “a top five country for API users,” and that OpenAI has “over 800 million users” globally. On age, it records that messages from users aged 18-24 “make up just under half of all messages on ChatGPT in the country” against “about one-third” globally. On work, that “around 30% of global messages are about work, around 35% of messages in India are.” On task shape, that work conversations contain “a higher share of ‘doing’ behavior such as drafting, transforming, or completing tasks, around 45% of all conversations.” This is OpenAI describing its own product and its own consumer users, so read it as first-party data on ChatGPT rather than as a measure of the AI search market.
Agency sites
- Techmagnate, checked 24 September 2026. New Delhi corporate office, “Own Every Search Result” positioning, uses “AI SEO” and “Agentic AI SEO” rather than GEO, names Bajaj Finserv, Hyundai, IIFL Finance and L&T Finance.
- TripleDart, checked 24 September 2026. Bangalore and Plano offices, “AI-Native B2B SaaS Marketing Agency”, names GEO/AEO, states standalone SEO and AEO “from $5K/month” in its FAQ, names SentinelOne, Freshworks, Zoho and Razorpay.
- ThatWare, checked 24 September 2026. Howrah, West Bengal and Dubai offices, “LLM SEO, AEO & GEO for AI Search Dominance”, uses six distinct terms for AI search work, no clients named.
On what we did not do
We checked three agencies in depth rather than listing twenty we had not opened, and we did not rank them. There are many more GEO agencies operating in India than appear here, and their absence is not a judgement. We also have no outcome data on any of these firms, and neither does any page currently ranking for this query. If an agency publishes audited performance data, send it and we will add it with attribution.

That is precisely the stage that produces no click.
